Obesity is a health problem where people wigh more than what is considered healthy for their height. It effects a persons body by making you at risk for other diseases like diabetes and heart disease. The chart below is an example of a person who is 5'9'' and their weight ranges.

Obesity is more prone to affect low income people. The CDC says that from 1998-2008, 1 in every 7 low income, preschool aged child was obese. Also, blacks were 51 percent higher than whites. Hispanic people were 21 percent higher than whites.

Obesity can try to be prevented by having a healthy diet. Exercise daily also helps people keep a healthy weight. Common treatments are nutrition, phsical activity and obesity programs. Risk factors for obesity are high blood pressure and physical inactivity.

To lessen the effects of obesity, people can eat a nutritional diet and mange their weight by working out or going on a weight management system.
